New leadership at LeftBrain: Charlie Naughton-Rumbo named CEO

We’re thrilled to announce a new chapter for LeftBrain: Charlie Naughton-Rumbo has been appointed CEO, effective immediately.

Charlie has been an integral part of LeftBrain for nearly nine years, spearheading LeftBrain’s information security strategy. In his previous role as CISO (Chief Information Security Officer), he established and grew our InfoSec team to meet the increasing demand from clients for security strategy and support for managing risks and meeting compliance goals. Under his leadership, we’ve successfully delivered ISO 27001 certified security programs at scale—both for our clients and within our own organisation. Most recently, Charlie guided LeftBrain through achieving ISO 9001 certification, reinforcing our commitment to operational excellence.

Reflecting on his new appointment, Charlie said: “I’m incredibly proud to step into the role of CEO at LeftBrain, leading such a talented and creative group of people. I often describe us as the ‘right brain’ approach to LeftBrain—our company culture thrives because of the diverse minds that make up our team. My own journey reflects this: I started out running my own theatre company, using a Mac for writing the scripts, as well as for sound and video production, before embarking on a career in information security.”

Charlie continues: “Founded in 2009, LeftBrain began as a Mac support company for creative teams and startups. Since then, the technology landscape has changed dramatically. The rise of cybercrime and the growing prevalence of data breaches have made risk management and compliance more critical than ever. Our client base has evolved too, with more high-profile tech scaleups relying on us to meet their increasingly complex and bespoke security needs.”
